Gates open at 10am…….Seafood is served from Noon until 4pm. Wristbands will be removed upon exiting festival grounds between the hours of noon – 4pm. Annual Chinco de Mayo 5 x 5 Art Show and Sale

5 x 5 is a creative fundraiser and celebration that takes place after the Annual Seafood Festival on Chincoteague Island. The art show and sale features artworks that are all 5 x 5 inches in size and they all sell for $55. The show and sale starts promtly at 5:55 pm when the artwork is revealed to the public for the first time. But plan to arrive at 5 pm to enjoy food from Bill’s Restaurant, margaritas, sangria, beer, and soft drinks. A spirited musical performance by Greg Shupe and company will add to the festivities. 23rd Annual International Migratory Bird Celebration

International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) is the only international education program that highlights and celebrates the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean. Youth Art Contest

Calling all young artists! It’s that time of year, when aspiring young artists are encouraged to showcase their talent by entering their work in a children’s art contest. The contest helps celebrate International Migratory Bird Day 2017 that will be held at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, May 13. This art contest, sponsored by the Historic Main Street Merchants Association, is open to multiple age groups: K-2 grades; 3-5 grades; 6 -8 grades, and 9-12 grades. First, second and third place winners in each age group will receive cash prizes donated by Tommy Clark, owner of Don’s Seafood Restaurant. Pony Swim Announcement from the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company

URGENT NEWS!!! This year’s pony swim (Wednesday, July 26, 2017) will be one of the earliest in many years so we are trying to get the word out now. Expected swim time is between 6:00am and 8:00am. This is the plan unless we have some unforeseen event that would force us into a later time. So, plan now, prepare accordingly for an early event. PLEASE SHARE!!!

Tales for Tots

Manna Café
EVERY Monday the Manna Café serves FREE hot lunch to people who live in the Chincoteague community.  The lunch is served in the Social Hall at Christ United Methodist Church (6253 Church Street) from 11am until 1pm.

CIAO is opening a new Annex

The Chincoteague Island Arts Organization is opening a new Annex next to the Island Theatre.  The Annex will be used for films, concerts, community meetings and more.  Join them for the Grand Opening of the new Annex Friday, May 5, from 5 pm – 7pm.  Live music and light refreshments.

Next Antares Launch

Orbital ATK’s Antares team at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility is making great progress on the company’s eighth Cargo Resupply Mission (known as OA-8) to the International Space Station. The team plans to have Antares fully integrated and ready for the Cygnus payload by May.
