Captain Steve’s Annual Spring Flounder Tournament will be held for 10 days April 21st – April 30th. With our pig roast and get together on April 27th. So mark your calendars. The first 50 people to sign-up will get Captains Bags. Pony Swim Announcement from the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company
URGENT NEWS!!! This year’s pony swim (Wednesday, July 26, 2017) will be one of the earliest in many years so we are trying to get the word out now. Expected swim time is between 6:00am and 8:00am. This is the plan unless we have some unforeseen event that would force us into a later time. So, plan now, prepare accordingly for an early event. PLEASE SHARE!!!
Ropewalk Chincoteague Grand Opening
Ropewalk Chincoteague will officially open on Friday, May 5th at 11:00 AM! They will be offering a Grand Opening buffet of free hors d’oeuvres from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and drink specials all day.
Flounder Tournament
Captain Steve’s 2017 Flounder Tournament started today, April 21st, and continues through April 30th.
Fishing has been heating up recently, with flounder, drum, and striped bass.
Tales for Tots
The Chincoteague Island Library is hosting “Tales for Tots” every Thursday at 10 a.m. through May 25, 2017 (unless Accomack County Schools are closed or have a delayed opening). This will be a test of a technology development for the deployment of payload components in support of future sounding rocket missions.

Next Antares Launch
Orbital ATK’s Antares team at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility is making great progress on the company’s eighth Cargo Resupply Mission (known as OA-8) to the International Space Station. The team plans to have Antares fully integrated and ready for the Cygnus payload by May.
