Our Tours
We cruise the coastline and back bays of Assateague Island. On a typical cruise we might see Ponies, Dolphins, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Egrets, Shorebirds, and other types of marine life. Every cruise is different and while we can’t guarantee what wildlife you will see, or how close, we do promise that we will take you to all of the very best wildlife viewing locations on your tour.
Our tours are limited to six passengers, with the option to rent the entire boat for your group if you prefer. Our tours last about 1.5 hours. We must charge for infants (please bring appropriate life jacket).
When booking your tour please let us know of any special interests you may have, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. This may include things like photography, rocket launch viewing, or special areas you would like to see. Weather permitting our tours circumnavigate Chincoteague Island.
We begin running tours at the beginning of April and stop at the end of November.
Ponies
We will take you to where the Ponies live, including rarely accessed portions of the Assateague shoreline that some of the other tour boats do not venture to. Captain Jon is very knowledgeable about the Ponies, their history, their habits, and their way of life. He is excited to show them to you and tell you all about them.
Dolphins
Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins sightings are common on our tours. They are in our area mainly during the summer and fall. The best area to see them is when we are cruising around the south end of Chincoteague Island near the Inlet to the Atlantic Ocean.
Eagles
Bald Eagles have made a big comeback in recent years and their numbers on Assateague Island are continually growing. We often spot them on our tours perched in tall pine trees along the Assateague shoreline.
Osprey
In the winter Osprey migrate as far south as South America. In the summer they return and many rebuild the same nests year after year. They are a common sighting on our tours.
Sunsets
Chincoteague Island has some of the most beautiful sunsets you will find anywhere, and we see many amazing ones on our evening tours.
