If you are looking for the perfect glamping experience look no further than Chincoteague, Virginia! What is glamping exactly? Just think “camping” but without the traditional experience in mind. Glamping is a luxurious way to get away and connect with nature but with all the amenities! When you stay at Jellystone Park Chincoteague Island you will find there are many ways to camp. Whether you are bringing your own RV, or renting one of the cabins, bringing your own tent or glamping in a safari tent that sleeps six.
During our stay, we chose the glamping cottages, read below, the one we booked actually had a front porch view of the lighthouse across the bay! Seeing the morning fog roll through the marsh and bay was a great way to start the day. It was a bonus that the kayak launch dock was also about 100 yards away. We really like the beach so this location was perfect with the access to Assateague Island right around the corner. You can drive over or bike to the beach. I’d recommend saving a day just to explore the bike trails across the bay on Assateague as well. Who knows you might just run into some wild ponies! Anyway, back to the glamping… Check out the options below to find which version of glamping or camping fits your travel style.
RV Sites
There are pet-friendly options in these 50 amp RV sites that offer mature trees making it feel more private. They are within walking distance (or golf cart rental distance) to the following: pool, activities center, playground, jumping pillow, and Maui Jack’s Waterpark. If you need a pull-through, back in, deluxe patio, premium patio or a site that has the essentials – you can find it all at Jellystone! All sites also come with, “WiFi, cable TV, a picnic table, and a fire ring.”
Glamping in Cabins or Safari Tent Rentals
If you aren’t pulling an RV but you want to get your glamp on then check out the lodging options at Jellystone Park! The Safari Tents are a favorite and we had the luxury of taking a tour of the park to get a closer look at these Instagram worthy “rustic-chic” camp sites. “The canvas tents sit on an elevated platform and are lavishly decorated with two queen beds, a full futon, an end table, a coffee table, and a dresser. You’ll also have luxuries like a furnished porch, a picnic table, a fire ring, and WiFi. Safari tents sleep six, so there’s room for your whole crew. Linens are provided. Note: No pets allowed.”
If you don’t want to go the tent route then you can explore renting an RV site which comes with a deck with table and lounge area, full kitchen, full bathroom and these are also furry friend approved! They also feature, “WiFi, cable TV, a deck, a charcoal grill, a fire ring, and a picnic table.”
The last lodging option (and our favorite) comes with some extra amenities and is accessible to all! You can choose from an array of spacious cabins that are deluxe, come with lofts, or are island bungalows! All these options come with air conditioning to make your stay comfortable!
Bring Your Own Tent Rental Spaces
For the true adventurers they offer three types of tent camping sites: Deluxe Tent Site, Water and Electric Tent Site and a Primitive Tent Site. All three of these options are pet friendly and offer a beautiful setting for the whole family. The “Deluxe” camp site offers the most amenities of all with an elevated tent site to keep you dry even if it rains, fire ring, picnic table, water hook up, 20 amp circuit with lights and WiFi! You can check out the other options by going here.
