BluFin Bungalows & Marina has proudly announced the winning entry for its Floating Bungalow Boat Naming Contest. They chose the fun and witty: ‘Pelican Perch’ as the grand prize winner. The contest included a hand drawing and a name suggestion for Blufin’s new glamping boats. Blue Water, the parent company of BluFin, created the contest. In addition, the contest was held in partnership with Maui Jacks Water Park and Chincoteague Elementary.
The Blufin Boat Naming Winner is Ryan H.
There were so many great entries but it came down to “Pelican Perch” suggested by Ryan H. The fifth-grade student won the grand prize which includes a two-night getaway at the newly-named bungalow. The trip, which is for his entire family, also includes six tickets to Maui Jacks Waterpark, on Chincoteague Island.
Over 25 Entries For The Blufin Boat Naming
In the end, the competition received an enormous response from the community, as the staff of Blue Water selected their favorite 25 entries. They then narrowed it down to the top ten finalists, which were posted on Facebook for the final voting process. In turn, ‘Pelican Perch’ won the contest with the highest number of Facebook likes. Award Ceremony and Celebration
Rounding out the contest they held an award ceremony at Chincoteague Elementary on June 9th to honor Ryan for his achievements. In recognition of their efforts, all student finalists were presented with a gift. This included a Blue Water gift bag, four Maui Jack’s tickets, and a t-shirt sporting their very own drawing and name entry.
