Brianna Merritt Benefit

Brianna Merritt is a 10yr old Chincoteague-er who is now fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia for the second time. A benefit will be held on May 12th, from 12 pm – 7 pm at ChincoTiki Carribean Bar and Grill on Main St.

The Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge shared this eagle video on 3/9/2018 and reported no eggs have been spotted yet.

New Refuge Trek Tour Bus

The Chincoteague Natural History Association recently introduced their new CNHA Refuge Trek bus!  The new bus accommodates 30 passengers with two wheelchair spaces, and the windows OPEN for photographs! Wallops Island Rocket Launches

Recent Launches

Two rockets have been successfully launched from Wallops Island in the past week. 

On March 25, 2018 four student projects successfully launched at 6:51 a.m. EDT on a NASA suborbital sounding rocket from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, reaching an altitude of 107 miles.

Watch the Undergraduate Student Instrument Project launch and ocean splashdown.

The Advanced Supersonic Parachute Inflation Research Experiment (ASPIRE) mission lifted off at 12:19 on a Black Brant IX sounding rocket March 31st.  ASPIRE tested a parachute that could be used on future missions to Mars.
