Foal Training & Hauling

Buying a foal at the auction?
If you've decided that you're not going to take one of the gorgeous foals here at the Pony Centre in favor of bidding on one of the wild ones at the Fireman's Carnival auction, we can still be of service to you.
One of the services that is offered by the Pony Centre is foal training and hauling. We give you the option of returning home, preparing your barn for a foal, and hauling to you at a later date. Meanwhile, we will start the process of halter training your foal, giving it its first lessons in trusting people and learning how to be handled by a human. In addition, by having your foal brought to the Pony Centre rather than hauled away over a long distance, it makes the adjustment from wild pony to domesticated equine much less stressful on your foal. We will monitor your foal on a daily basis, checking its health and slowly gentling it for its new life.
We recommend that your foal spends approximately 6 weeks with us and comes to your home sometime in September. We will arrange to either haul the foal ourselves in our trailer, or work with you to arrange alternative hauling.
