Captain Pete's Weekly Fishing Report.

Both bay and ocean fishing are going through a transition from summer species to the fall migration. Plenty of small Blues around the rips and bridges, when the tide is right. The Flounder that are being taken are mostly shorts. A few Rockfish are being taken at the rips, look for their size and numbers Rock to increase in the coming months. Overcast days or night fishing works best for the Rockfish. Plenty of small Sea Bass around structure, seeing some increase in size but still very few if any keepers. A few Speckled Trout showing up the bay. Some Kingfish remain around the inlet. Very little to report from the ocean, constant wind has kept most boats from fishing the ocean. Fishing is changing daily. If you are looking for a nice day fishing on the water the fall is a great time to go. If you are relying on your catch for diner, you would be better off making reservations at one of Chincoteagues many fine restaurants.
Fish Tales will be starting their "Rockfish Special". The cost for up to 3 anglers is $295.00. Trips will be scheduled around when the best bite is expected. These trips are designed for the more serious and experienced angler. Methods include spin casting, fly casting, live bait and what ever is producing the best at the time.
We will still be offering our 2 hour fishing trips and our "Eastern Shore Adventure" through October.
