Some of the best fishing grounds on the Mid-Atlantic Coast are found in the local waters surrounding the Island of Chincoteague. Fishing either in the inland waterways that surround the Island or venturing out into the Atlantic Ocean, whatever your preference, will most surely be a fun and productive experience. Be sure to review the Species, Sizes and Limit Restrictions, also a link to the current Citation's for the years state tournaments.

   Surf Fishing can be done on Assateague Island, no saltwater license is required for fishing along the coast. Fishing is prohibited on the Life guard beaches or designated surfing zones. Obtain a after hours fishing permit from the visitors center for night time fishing.
