Assateague Island National Seashore shields Chincoteague from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean & serves as home to the famous Chincoteague ponies as well as other wildlife.

The opportunities are endless.  Enjoy a round of miniature golf, a bike ride or a leisurely stroll through our quaint town & visit a vast array of gift shops. You'll have lots of eating options too-- with clams shrimp, & other fresh seafood offered in the local restaurants.

So come....soak up some sun, splash in the surf, build castles in the sand and simply sit back & breath the fresh sea air. Pack a picnic, take a hike, launch a boat, bring the family. The Assateague Wild Life Refuge is a haven for wildlife & heaven for birdwatchers.

Some things to do while you're visiting:
Swim in our heated pool or sunbathe on beautiful, unspoiled beaches: take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean; hunt for seashells; watch the locals surf or cast your line into the breakers.  Try your hand at crabbing or clamming.   Rent a boat or charter a trip for bay or ocean fishing.   Enjoy a sightseeing, nature cruise with a local captain. Rent a jetski, go hunting, play miniature golf.  Watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean and set over the Chincoteague Bay. Hit the nature trails for hiking, biking, or bird watching. Watch salt water taffy being made, right next door! Visit the Oyster Maritime Museum, Waterfowl Museum or NASA Visitor Center.  Relax & enjoy yourself!

Can you help this young man to be able to receive what we all take for granted....our eyesight!

Bradley was born with a condition called Optic Nerve Hypoplaysia (ONH). ONH is a condition where the optic nerves, which connect the eyes to the brain, are underdeveloped. Bradley was diagnosed with ONH when he was just a couple of months old.  Recently, the family learned of a new treatment now available in China. This new, breakthrough treatment involves a series of injections of adult stem cells taken from umbilical cords.  Please click here  (or on his picture) to go to his web page and learn how you can help make a donation for Bradley's treatment. In addition to your financial support, your prayers for Bradley would be appreciated immensely.
