Easter Decoy and Arts Festival

One of the highlights of Chincoteague's busy Easter weekend is the popular Easter Decoy Festival. The event is sponsored annually by the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce and has gained reputation as being the premiere wildlife art and decoy show on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Chincoteague is home to some of the finest decoy carvers and wildlife artists to be found today. In recent years the festival has grown to include artists and carvers from various parts of the country. Approximately 150 exhibitors participate in the show each year. From rustic working decoys to detailed decorative miniatures and beautiful wildlife paintings, the Easter Decoy and Art Festival is a wildlife lover's delight!

Various Artists from around the area display thier art work and are there to met and greet thier customers. "Cork Mcgee" and "Nancy Richards West"  always have a smile and a kind word for those stopping by.

The festival provides an excellent opportunity to chat with the local carvers and artists as they work at their craft as well as a perfect time to purchase unique art, gifts, and souvenirs.

With expert carvers such as Reggie Birch showing thier craft and explaining the details, you'll apreciate the work that goes into these works of art.
