The Osprey Nest Art Gallery

Kevin McBride

Kevin McBride began painting wildlife at an early age in his hometown of Emerson, New Jersey. Inspired by his love of art and nature, Kevin received his degree in fine Arts from the University of Rhode Island and a second degree in Art Education from Montclair State University.

Kevin relocated to Chincoteague Island, Virginia where he taught art for 4 years. He subsequently opened the Osprey Nest Art Gallery and devoted his time to painting wildlife professionally. Kevin's art work has been displayed at many prestigious art shows throughout the country and his originals can be found as far away as Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

He is an active member of many conservation groups including Ducks Unlimited and donates many of his paintings and much of his time to various organizations such as the Deborah Heart & Lung Foundation.

Kevin would describe himself as a romantic and a perfectionist, one who truly cares about the natural world and the state of the environment.

Each spring Kevin creates his annual Pony Penning Poster, something he has been doing for over 31 years. The centerpiece of the poster is a copy of one of Kevin's original paintings that he creates especially for the poster series. It takes a great deal of ispiration and determination to create the annual piece. Kevin draws on his love of nature, the Chincoteague Ponies, and healthy work ethic for the inspiration needed to complete the poster each year.
